Elder Adwoa Olaifa Rose Rice was an extraordinary individual—a skilled tennis player, a gentle and kind soul, and a vital member of our community.

As our archivist, she meticulously tracked event attendance and participation, and as inventory manager, crafted and repaired our sacred beads and Ilékes.

She ensured we were always well-prepared. She was a fierce advocate for African culture and traditions, and her life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to these values.

 

In accordance with her wishes, Mama Adwoa Rose’s body was be gifted to Howard University Hospital for research—an act that reflects her enduring generosity and dedication to the greater good. She entered the ancestral realm in 2025.
